Description
Zarafet, meaning elegance or grace, conveys refinement and style (Ottoman Turkish).
Made in the famous rug-making region of Konya in Turkey, Zarafet is unusual for its colors – or lack thereof. What makes Zarafet unique is that the beige color in the design is actually undyed wool, remaining the natural color of the sheep from which it came. The muted colors and thoughtful details make it an elegant choice for a small sitting area or bedroom.
Exact size: 56.25 x 68.75 inches.
Details
Natural Dyes: Our rugs are made with beautiful vegetable dyes, which last longer and are of greater value than synthetic dyes and avoid any harsh chemicals.
100% Handmade: Our rugs take between 3 months to 1 year to create, and that doesn't include the time spent spinning and dyeing the materials.
No Two Rugs Alike: Many of our rugs were created as wedding gifts or dowry pieces, an artistic expression filled with meaning by the woman who wove it.
Notes + Care
Many of our items are vintage and have lived many lives. Each of our rugs has been carefully vetted, restored if necessary, and professionally cleaned. Please expect some light wear consistent with age and use.
Additionally, there may be some unexpected variations in sizing, color and design due to the handcrafted nature of every item – we believe these little stories left behind by the human hands that created them add interest and character.
